BrickJournal editor Joe Meno built this super slick LEGO version of the upcoming Wall-E robot (Disney-Pixar movie). I’m sure the movie will rock, as all of Pixar’s movies do, but till the movie comes out.. this LEGO version will have everyone’s attention .
Took me 4 minutes to make because it’s only 25 pieces. It’s actually less than that because there are a few extras. The final result is still impressive. The mini figure is of very high quality and looks super cool.
Bad-Ass Meter: 5/5 (For $3.25, I should have bought a few more)
When I was at the LEGO store buying the closeout ExoForce and AquaRaiders sets, I was with my nephew and a friend. My nephew couldn’t stop talking about this particular spongebob set, so I picked it up and over this weekend, I made the set with my nephew and loved it.
The 210 piece set took me 25 minutes and was a hell of a lot of fun. The bus has 6 wheels, a lift-off roof and comes with a ticket booth and bus stop. The parts are pretty simple to assemble and turn out amazing.
Bad-Ass Meter: 4.5/5 (I think the price was a bit much)
Pure friggen awesomeness! Go and check out artist Chris Burden’s masterpiece for yourself before July 19th at Rockafeller Center right now! That is a direct order!
On the LEGO website, this item is listed as Exclusive and Hard-to-Find. And let me tell you something.. that is VERY TRUE. It took me forever to find this town house, but I did so as the local LEGO outlet here in New York. It cost me an arm and a leg, but with about 1200 pieces, what can you expect? The item is no longer available on LEGO’s online website. You can find it at a few rare locations or on ebay.
On to the good stuff: This 9″ tall set took an awful long time to build (6 hours). It has a life-up roof so you can see what’s going on inside the house/garage. The garage door swings up and down so you can actually store a car inside as well. All of the doors and windows open and close. There is a trash bin at the front of the house, flowers and bushes at the front and many other nice details. You have to see this set in person to believe how beautiful it is. You can make 3 different styles of houses. They include a booklet for each.
Yep, it’s one of the baddies. This set contains 3 evil bad guys/robots, a mini robot, and a huge dark panther robot with thorns and a spiky tail. This is taller than the other robots, standing at 8″. It has 4 legs and of the 3 iron drone robots, two have backpacks and can fly. This was a bit more complicated (and annoying) to build than the other Exoforce sets, but it was worth it in the end. It’s somewhat like the battle arachnoid (8112) but larger. I think anyone who has some change to spare and half an hour will find this a great set to build.
Here’s another Exoforce set I made over the weekend and forgot to post up. This is the Assault Tiger, set number 8113 of the Exoforce series. It’s 7″ tall and is made of 163 pieces. There is one mini-figure named Takeshi (the pilot), one mini robot, and one huge robot which you can put Takeshi into. The robot has a buzz-saw and rocket launcher. The feet of this robot are a lot larger than any of the other Exoforce robots. These sets are now on sale and for less than $12, it’s definitely worth your money and 20 minutes of your time. Go get one now!
I finished building this on Sunday night. It took me only 20 minutes and came out pretty good. It’s not my favorite Exoforce piece because the green doesn’t work for me, but I like the flamethrower and the red claws on the right hand. I think most people will really enjoy it. It’s about 7″ tall and is made of 188 pieces.
This is another Exoforce set I bought over this hot weekend. It was on sale and I think it looks even better than the River Dragon. I have a thing for large Arachnoids, lol. Rating: 5/5
