X-Men: The First Class Fan-Cast

May 8, 2009

I’ve given my two options for each character, so here goes. Comments are welcome.

Professor Xavier:
Choice A – Patrick Stewart
He may be aging, but he is an excellent actor, and he knows the role. Then again, the age factor may keep him away from a sequel.

Choice B – Timothy Olyphant
Does he have the chops? I guess you’ve never seen HBO’s “Deadwood”

Magneto:
Choice A – Michael C. Hall
He has a wicked and evil demeanor about him, and the acting chops too.

Choice B – Michael Rosenbaum
Yes, he would do well as Professor X as well, haven’t you seen him bald? (Lex Luthor on Smallville)

Ice-Man
Choice A – Daniel Radcliffe
We may or may not like Harry Potter, but he’s a good actor and has that pale/cold look about him.

Choice B – Elijah Wood
Ice Man is also known to be a wise guy, Frodo may have been a sober character but Elijah Wood is known to be lively.

Beast:
Choice A – Emile Hirsch
He’s hairy looking enough, I guess. lol. He’s a good actor but Speed Racer sucked bit time. He deserves another shot.

Choice B – Justin Long
Yes he’s slightly older, but has that smart geeky quality about him.

Cyclops:
Choice A – Zac Efron
I know almost nothing about him except he’s always talked about. He has the cyclops look and a decent acting career which I think a good role can help him solidify.

Choice B – Jamie Bell
Has a slightly older look than Efron, but considered to be a better actor.

Jean Grey:
Choice A – Megan Fox
I’m not a big fan of hers, but she does have a specific look about her that I think the movie could use.

Choice B – Isla Fisher
The hair and the look, she’s cute but also has a smart quality about her.

(Arch) Angel:
Choice A – Michael Cera
I’ve run out of reasons at this point, I think he would do the trick. lol

Choice B – James Mcavoy
We all enjoyed his role in Wanted, we all want to see more of his talents.

The Incredible Hulk: HD Video Review

June 25, 2008

In all honesty, I wasn’t expecting anything from this game, and that’s EXACTLY what it delivered, hence the poor reviews all over.

When will companies start doing superhero/comic-book video-game translations properly?

(BTW- Those who saw the movie know that it rocked, the game however.. doesn’t).

“Red” Comic-Based Movie Coming To Big Screen

June 12, 2008

According to Yahoo:

Summit Entertainment is entering the comic-book adaptation business, picking up the movie rights to WildStorm/DC Comics’ “Red,” which revolves around a former CIA agent.

The three-issue comic series, published in 2003, told the story of a former black-ops CIA agent now living a quiet life in retirement until the day a high-tech assassin shows up intent on killing him. With his secret identity compromised and his love interest in danger, the man must reassemble his old team to figure out who is after them. The book was written by Warren Ellis.

Turok Live-Action Film In The Works!

June 11, 2008

Comingsoon has spilled the beans on the live-action Turok film. Yes, Turok, the video-game/comic book dinosaur hunter. Adam Beach, in an interview with MTV said that the film is indeed in the works.

Now the only question is whether the movie will follow the original Turok comic book idea or the revamped tech-savvy video-game version of Turok.

3age Baby Marvel Characters Are Adorable!

June 11, 2008

I saw these a week ago and couldn’t believe how awesome they look. The company that makes these (3age) has made them in the past and they have sold very well. Unfortunately they aren’t available here in the U.S. so you have to get yours from japan. For about $105 (shipping included), you can get your hands on this series 3 set. The first two series are also still available at some online importers. Blister.jp is one of them. This set includes wolverine, spiderman, black spiderman, stealth iron man, and the hulk.

The Runaways Movie In The Works!

May 22, 2008

You all remember The Runaways marvel comic don’t you? The basic storyline, which has won some awards, is that the characters parents are supervillians that do horrible things, so the “Pride’s kids” divert from their parents and make it their mission to do good as superheroes.

The series reminds me of Gen-X. As I recall, there was also a Gen-X special movie on TV a few years ago which wasn’t half bad. Here is a link to the yahoo story: Click.
