Want 220 Miles To The Gallon? Move Over Tesla!

May 29, 2008

Tesla may have some serious competition headed their way. There are currently two models in the works from Hybrid Technologies that can compete with Tesla and compete for the Automotive X prize as hybrid/electric vehicles. Lets hope this one isn’t as expensive as the Tesla but indications so far show that it will probably be as much if not more costly than the Tesla. However, that itself may drive prices of hybrids and electric vehicles down significantly. I’ll tell you one thing.. if this Corvette ZR1 inspired car costs less than $50k, I’m in for the ride :) .

800HP Scottish Falen Scots Supercar Details Revealed!

May 29, 2008

The car will come equipped with a 5.5 liter “Judd” V10 engine, the same motor that is used in LeMans prototype race cars. Only 4 of these, yep.. 4 will ever be built. No other information is really available yet but more is expected at the Geneva Show in 2009. Until then, you can find more details and pictures on evo here.

Currently Obsessed With: Duffy – Mercy Video

May 29, 2008

I’ve heard this song “Mercy” over and over again maybe two dozen times and cant stop. I went and downloaded the entire album titled “Rockferry”. The sound is so … 60’s and retro that it’s awesome. The beat and sound in the back is somewhat similar of what Amy Winehouse is known for but the vocals here are better (my opinion). Duffy also carries herself in a better way and if you keep listening..  you start to heart a very strong sense of control and balance in her voice. Unlike many of the vocalists out today who are sweating at the top of their vocal cords, she seems to sing without hurting her throat or trying too hard. The dancing is also very cool, especially when everyone’s feet are on fire at the end of the video. ;)

ENJOY!

LEGO 8161: Speed Racer Grand Prix Race Build & Review

May 29, 2008

595 pieces of pure adrenaline race action, that’s what this set is! This set took me 4 hours to make because of all the little details and cars and such. It contains a bunch of mini figures and cars along with a commentator box, pit area, extra tires, tools and even a monkey for good measure! If you have this set along with the Snake Oiler and Racer X sets, 8158 and 8159, you end up having even more fun as you can see in my pictures:

Bad-Ass Meter: 5/5 (I would rate it a 10 if I could, but that’s against the Bad-Ass rules)

Now all I am missing fron the Speed Racer collection is 8160: Cruncher Block & Racer X. Enjoy!

LEGO 8156: Racers Ferrari Fxx 1:17 Build & Review

May 29, 2008

Building this is a huge undertaking (2 instruction booklets) and should be done carefully and maybe even with the aid of a friend. To me personally, this is the most realistic and coolest LEGO model so far. All LEGO sets have their own personality and to me this one is worth its weight in gold. For $50 it’s a bargain considering there are car models out there that cost double this amount and don’t look half as good or feel good making them. The set has 626 pieces and took me 4 1/2 hours to make. The car builds very stably and everything works great. The doors come up, the hood comes up and so does the boot. The motor looks realistic as well. If I could give this LEGO model higher than a 5.0, I surely would.

Bad-Ass Meter: 5/5
Cost: $50
